Peter Cox, founded in 1951 and the UK market leader in its field, is widely recognised as a company to trust with its unrivalled experience in the repair and preservation of all types of property from private and historic buildings, to large commercial properties.
We provide property professionals, owners, public authorities and building contractors with specialist advice and effective repair solutions in timber preservation, damp control and wall stabilisation.
With fully trained surveyors and skilled technicians, our staff have tackled projects ranging from private housing to public historical properties across the UK.
Our Preston office covers much of the North-West, including Blackburn, Burnley, Preston, Chorley, Kendal, Barrow in Furness, Lake District, Lancaster, Blackpool, Morecambe, Carlisle, West Cumbria, East Lancashire and the towns of the Ribble Valley. We have been based in Lancashire and Cumbria for over 25 years offering property preservation services such as damp proofing, wet and dry rot and woodworm treatments.
The climate of Preston is temperate maritime, with a narrow range of temperatures, similar to the rest of the British Isles. Being relatively close to the Irish Sea, this is more pronounced than areas to the south and east of Preston. Like most of inland Lancashire, Preston receives a higher than UK average total of rainfall, even in the driest month there is a lot of rain and it is slightly colder.
Problems like damage to structural timber, fungal decay through dry or wet rot, black mould, and woodworm can arise if damp gets into a property. Due to higher than average rainfall, it's essential to prevent water ingress from entering your property.
Our project file includes work on public sector housing refurbishments and repair work on Townhead, Slaidburn and Millom Infants School.
