Between the cities of Portsmouth and Southampton in the south east of Hampshire, Fareham is a market town at the northwest tip of Portsmouth Harbour. It gives its name to the borough that comprises the town and surrounding area. Fareham started out as a Saxon village and is now home to a population of around 60,000 residents.
Historically an important manufacturer of bricks, Bursledon Brickworks provided their materials to many famous buildings around the country, including the construction of the Albert Hall, London.
Due to its coastal location the town and surrounding areas of Fareham have problems with seagulls, who along with local pigeons, like to roost amongst the town's buildings. We offer commercial bird deterrence measures that specialises in the removal of bird fouling while offering effective solutions in removing birds with our humane bird control systems.
The region has a mild climate; there are warm summers with occasional hot spells and cool rainy periods. The region has slightly higher than average rainfall and with the low-lying countryside risk from flooding. New builds are particularly at risk as many properties are built on land that is classed as floodplains. In recent years, parts of the region have suffered from severe flooding caused by extremes in weather. This can lead to problems with damp caused by penetrating rainwater.
As well as Hampshire, our Fareham team of experts support Dorset, South Somerset and East Devon, so whether you are in need of damp proofing, timber treatment, flood restoration or bird control services, Peter Cox are here to help.
