Recently we have had damp patches on one small area of wall with fluffy white residue is this due to deteriation of cavity wall as we have been told by salesman at door saying wrong material used offering to remove said material and redo with latest product. We have had the brickwork repointed but not sure if the roughcasting needs redone The only product that I like the sound of is DRYWALL THERMOTEK is this costly?
We had a new roof following a fire at our rental property. Following the first Winter the loft insulation was sopping wet, the insurers added extra vents and replaced insulation. The problem reappeared the next Winter but to a much lesser extent. We were advised by a roofer that more vented ridge tiles needed to be installed. This was done. 2 years on, now damp has appeared on the bedroom walls but only on the very top corners of the exteral walls. It is not aggressive but obviously not pleasant for the tenants. Prior to the new roof, we never had any damp issues. How can we rectify this?
