After a damp treatment it is essential that the correct plastering materials are used to prevent future damage to internal decorations. This is why Peter Cox include always include a damp proof plaster solution that is salt retardant plaster solution called DryWall for every damp related job that we do. Moreover, as part of the Peter Cox range of products we can offer our premium specialist salt retardant plaster called “Thermal Render”. Thermal Render was developed to provide an economical method of wall insulation, while also dealing with salt affected plaster.

Our Thermal Render is especially useful after the insertion of a remedial damp proof course, as it prevents salts in the wall migrating to the plaster surface.

Not only that, this damp proof plaster solution also helps the wall retain more heat, reducing the amount of thermal loss through external walls, meaning a reduction in heating bills.

Also because this product helps reduce Carbon Emissions (CO2), our Thermal Render damp proof plaster and all associated works such as removing and refitting skirting boards, radiators etc; can be charged at ONLY 5% VAT. This makes it an economical and cost effective solution.

The key benefits of damp proof plaster

  • It Protects Walls from Salt Contamination - Following the installation of a remedial damp proof course, it is vital that any plaster used is a salt retardant to create a barrier that prevents the salts from migrating from the wall. This will stop the surface of plaster from becoming contaminated by any residual hygroscopic salts in the brickwork. Traditional lightweight plasters are not able to prevent salts migrating to the surface, but both our DryWall and Thermal Render damp proof plaster can perform this function.

  • It Can Save You money on Heating Costs - Thermal Render is more thermally efficient than traditional sand and cement renders, and this means it can reducing your heating bills. The product also reduces condensation and mould growth by raising the surface temperature of the wall. Along with these benefits, Thermal Render is also comparable with traditional lime based mortars in terms of shrinkage and breathability.

A guaranteed solution to prevent salts from migrating to the surface in a wall previously affected by rising damp

  • It looks Great and is Future Proof - A plaster skim finish will applied internally matching existing plaster, meaning no visual differences between the thermal render and standard non-thermal plaster finishes. Also, a variety of finishes can be applied as a topcoat, meaning you can decorate your space as normal after our thermal render is applied.
If you choose our Thermal Render damp proof plaster it also protects your wall from future outbreaks of black mould from condensation.

  • Additional Features and Benefits - Thermal Render uses EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) emulsion as a bonding agent and as a salt retardant additive, preventing the migration of salts. EVA coating allows the wall to breathe so residual moisture can dry off through the plaster finish (Only light non-vinyl decorations should be used for 12 months). EVA is also microporous allowing the wall to breathe.

Our Thermal Render is also professionally approved and rated giving you complete peace of mind.
