Woodworm are moving in for the summer

Whilst our housing prices are on the rise, Woodworm have got the ideal life! No rent or mortgage, easy access to food, and work just around the corner! They know a good opportunity when they see it!

Joking aside, we have provided Woodworm with the perfect living conditions. As a cold blooded insect, woodworm beetles control their bodies through external sources of heat such as the sun and central heating, providing them with more ‘energy’ to do their daily activities.

Like most insects, summer is the perfect season for woodworm to thrive. Have you ever noticed holes in a piece of wood that is constantly in the sun throughout the day? This is the ideal place for woodworm to feed. Wood panels, floor boards, skirting boards, shelves, wooden furniture:  they are all a great food source for woodborers, especially when heat is present as well.

Not only does heat provide Woodworm with good living conditions and food, it also encourages the insects to mate, meaning more insects needing living space and food, leading to an infestation.

Woodworm infestation can cause some serious damage to wood, including structural and decorative timber so it is important to get it treated as soon as possible!

Take a look at our Woodworm page to see how we can help.
