Damp can be one of the main problems that puts people off a property more than any other. People may be concerned about the health issues caused by damp, or they simply do not want to pay out for fixing the issue.

However, damp in a home may not be as big of a problem as people initially think.

In order to find out how bad the damp problem really is, it is important to get advice from a professional. Remember, damp is a symptom of an underlying issue, therefore the first job is to pin-point where the damp is coming from, and what is causing the issue.

The most common form of damp is condensation. This can simply be due to inadequate ventilation in rooms such as the kitchen and bathroom.

Another common form of damp is rising damp. This is formed when damp is soaked up from the ground through solid walls causing the walls to become wet and making them poor at retaining heat.
