The weather warnings have been everywhere and the stories have been all over the news over the last couple of weeks so it is no surprise to hear that some records were broken in December 2015.
There was so much rainfall throughout December 2015 in the UK as a whole, that it has now been recorded as one of the top 10 wettest Decembers since 1910.
Scotland, North Wales, Northern Ireland, and North West England all suffered the most with heavy downpours, causing numerous floods throughout the Christmas period.

It isn’t just the rain that has been record breaking
December 2015 had also been making records due to its higher than average temperatures. The average temperature for December is usually 4°C, but the average temperature for December 2015 was in fact 8°C.
Winds are changing direction
It may have been a ‘warm’ December and start to the new year but temperatures are set to fall again in the coming weeks as longer-range forecasts warn of bitter gales coming in from the Arctic.
Could this mean snow is on its way?…
