Wall Stabilisation
In addition to remedial wall ties Peter Cox now has a range of
additional services for repairing structural faults in walling
masonry.
Replacement Cavity Wall Ties
Horizontal cracking along mortar joints is a typical sign of
underlying wall tie corrosion, a problem
resulting from factors such as inadequate or sub-standard
galvanising, chemical corrosion (e.g. by black ash mortar) or
extreme exposure
( e.g. marine locations).
Peter Cox surveyors use specialist equipment including metal
detectors and endoscopes to examine and determine the condition of
the ties. Where needed high quality austenitic stainless steel
replacement ties are installed, fixed either mechanically or with
resin.
Where applicable, treatments carry our 20 year long term guarantee.

Structural Anchors
Peter Cox technicians are approved installers of the
Cintec system
of cementitious grout masonry
anchors. This technique can be used for stabilising masonry walls,
whether of solid, cavity, hollow pot or rubble filled construction.
It is particularly effective in weak substrates, is largely
invisible after installation and is sympathetic to the original
structure, making it acceptable to heritage authorities.
Brick Stitching

To stabilise cracked brickwork helical stainless steel
rods are
installed in the mortar bed joints.
This redistributes tensile
loading to minimise further
crack development.
Lateral Restraints
To counteract movement in external walls stainless
steel bolts are
installed from
the outside to tie them
back to the internal floor joists.
Resin,
mechanical or cementitious systems can be utilised for this.
