Damp proofing, waterproofing, woodworm and dry rot specialists, Peter Cox UK.

Timber Preservation

Peter Cox has over 40 years of experience in resolving the problems of decay in building timber andtimber preservation over that period we have steadily developed better and more effective techniques for treatment and control.

Whether it is infestation by woodworm or attack by fungal decay, our surveyors are trained to first identify the cause of the problem correctly, a vital initial step before any treatment and repair programme can be planned.

It is important for instance to distinguish between the different species of wood rotting fungi, particularly the more damaging Dry Rot and to recognise from damaged timber the exact species of wood boring insect responsible.

Woodworm & Wet / Dry Rot Control

Today we use low odour, micro-emulsion insecticidal and fungicidal formulations, most of which permit re-occupation of treated areas within 1 hour. Application methods include spray, brush, paste and injection.

Where applicable, treatments carry our 20 year long term guarantee.

Epoxy Resin Repairs

The availability of epoxy resin has greatly improved methods of repairing structural timber, offering the benefits of excellent adhesion, high mechanical strength and resistance to water and chemicals.

Peter Cox technicians are now highly skilled in using this cost effective technique for repairing decayed beam ends, joint stabilisation, floor stiffening and crack injection.

In historic buildings the use of resin repairs can maintain original lines and surfaces and avoid unsightly repair evidence.
